Plaintiffs’ vehicle was broadsided while turning left on a green arrow at the intersection of Gonzales and Ventura Roads when Defendant failed to stop for a red light.   Plaintiffs father and daughter were transported to a nearby hospital, treated and released.  Thereafter, chiropractic treatment was provided to both, with father’s MRI revealing a lumbar disc condition requiring recommended future surgery costing nearly $70,000.00.  Defendant admitted fault but disputed nature and extent of injuries.  Jury awarded father $2,600.00 loss of earnings, $11,456.82 past medical expenses, $383.00 rental car expense, $15,000.00 future loss of earnings, $70,000.00 future medical expenses, $30,000.00 past pain and suffering and no recovery for future pain and suffering.  Plaintiff daughter received $2,344.00 past medical and the same amount for past pain and suffering.  Plaintiffs’ cost bill totaled $6,802.83.  Defendant rejected the arbitration award of $22,503.71 to father and $1,770.00 to daughter.
