Plaintiff was making a left turn at an intersection in Lompoc near the Vandenberg AFB, while being observed by family members in a nearby vehicle, when she was broadsided by Defendant’s pick-up. Defendant admitted causing the accident but disputed Plaintiffs claims of disc herniation, cervical strain and PTSD along with associated loss of earnings as a hair stylist. Jury awarded $35,000 past loss of earnings; $76,809.95 past medical expenses (reduced $31,573.05 by stipulation); $250,000 future loss of earnings; $37,100 future medical expenses; $286,766 past pain and suffering; $420,000 future pain and suffering.  Plaintiff's costs of $15,032.82 were added to the verdict by way of a post-trial motion.  Defendant was insured by Allstate Ins. with a $1million policy limit.
